An Artist Development Program powered by SoLA Contemporary.
This nine month intensive offers 8 visual artists an opportunity to workshop and refine their position in the art world.
From the ins and outs of constructing one’s narrative to understanding exhibition processes, we will help emerging artists identify their lane for a career in the arts. Participants will be familiar with comprehensive arts writing, personal branding and marketing, financial literacy and assessing market value, various types of artist contracts, e-commerce, giving and receiving critique, and tips for developing and maintaining collector and industry relationships.
Through a hybrid model, SEED participants will attend monthly in person workshops additional online meetings and optional field trips.
Studio visits and guest lectures are central to this model and by end of year will result in mentor relationships and a new arts network. During the 9 months, participants will create new work and end the program with a self-directed group exhibition, catalog, and event. Applications will be reviewed by a jury of SoLA staff and industry experts.
