SoLA 2020 Winter Pandemic Fundraiser

The pandemic changed everything.

As a result, SoLA has improvised, cooperated, collaborated, and invented new ways to operate. We shifted outreach art classes to a remote Outreach Quilt project; turned the performance-based monthly Open Mic Night into a virtual venue for spoken word and poetry; used online platforms to facilitate cultural exchange & exhibition with Korean artists, and continued our popular Creative Practice Critique Groups via zoom. And now, following safety protocols, the gallery is re-opened three days a week.

You can make a difference in our ability to continue outreach in our community, as we work together to produce challenging and important exhibitions, events, and programs. We are hosting an online silent auction December 12-26. Auction bidding opens at 8am on December 12 and closes at 5pm on December 26.

Auction proceeds will go towards SoLA continuing exhibitions and outreach programs including SoLA’s newly developing Creative X Change Program starting in 2021 for emerging artists:

Participants in our Creative X Change will work in small groups under the mentorship of professional practicing artists. This exchange will help artists build the fundamental skills necessary to a successful career, including statement writing, critical analysis, and curatorial experience. This year-long program will culminate in the collective conceptualization, execution, and promotion of a formal exhibition at SoLA Contemporary.

Browse our user-friendly auction site, with most items starting at $100 bids.

Help us share our message and programs with others: share our auction flyer on your social media.

Fall in love with the art you see and make it your own while supporting SoLA and the artists we serve.

Need to see the art in person? (We don’t blame you!) Please email us to schedule a viewing for small groups (not more than 4). Dates available: December 12 and 13, 11am-5pm; and December 17, 18, 19, 11am – 4 pm.

KPA x SoLA exhibition, Saturation, will be on display in the gallery alongside the small works collected for the online silent auction, however the KPA x SoLA show is not part of the fundraiser.
